Pregnenolone

Hi everyone, this is my first attempt to post to this forum and I hope I'm doing it correctly. One of the doctors I see has suggested that I try a Pregnenolone supplement to supposedly help with my PMS symptoms, my overall hormone imbalance and my cognitve/memory problems. However, I've just looked up some information about it on the net and it apparently converts into DHEA. I already have *raised* DHEA levels (together with raised testosterone, raised androstenedione and high-normal sex hormone binding globulin.

Surely taking something which would raise my DHEA levels higher would be a BAD thing for me?? Please, if any of the doctors could give me their expert opinion on this I'd be really grateful. Best wishes Jane
