Re: crystal healing????? bit weird!!From: Renee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 15 Feb 2002 18:13:25 -0800
I completely believe that there is a strong mind-body connection, and visualization, imagery, etc. can help. There have been lots of studies on this (many on athletes visualizing hitting the home run/getting the basket, etc, and doing better than those who didn't visualize, and some studies on cancer patients visualizing attacking the cells). My question is, how would using a crystal (how is it utilized?) be different than spending some quite time on your own meditating, visualizing, relaxing, etc. Why pay someone to give me a crystal, place it on me, or whatever, when I can focus on myself for free. And, how would one crystal be different than another in this respect? The only benefit I can come up with is that if you're paying someone, you're more likely to do it. The financial implication may force someone to take it more seriously and be more dedicated. That's what I did to help stop biting my nails-- I went for a manicure weekly. I didn't want to bite my nails if I I was paying someone $22 a week to do them. Renee
