I found your psot very interesting - I have PCOS and have had it since 1990 or so - long before Metformin. I also happen to be the DIrector of Administration for an organization called the Institute for Parapsychology, which is the organization founded by JB Rhine - who coined the terms ESP - and deals with things such as hands on healing and alternative medicine. The outcome of such therapy is distinctly related to the individual who is the recepient of it - are you skeptical, do you expect miracles, etc. I would not suggest discontinuing any of the conventional therapy that you are currently receiving, and I definately wouldn't expect to be cured of PCOS. Occasionally individuals find they receive some comfort or sense of wellness by just sharing their illness with a spiritual individual. I do highly suggest massage therapy - relaxation is very important for the entire system, and stress makes syndromes like PCOS worse. (All PCOSer know that the disease creates a huge amount of stress) Also, you mentioned that it's a VERY EXPENSIVE treatment (crystals) be cautious about paying huge prices - alternative therapy should not be more expensive that traditional therapy. I also suggest accupuncture - it really does work for most everyone who tries it, by providing some pain relief, less bloating and helps with cravings too! I hope I have provided a little help. I don't post much to the forum, but I read everything that comes through. All the best to everyone! Sonnett, if you read this post - please e-mail me privately at Libby@rhine.org, I have an idea I'd like to run past you! Thanks Libby Parish (was Freeland - got married 10/17/01)
