Apparently, my physician did not write DAW on the original prescription, because the generic was not available last year. I know the generic is cheaper, and that the HMO has a higher copaymant for the brand name, but is the generic really as good? Some time ago, I tried the time-release form of Glucophage (XR), and it did not work as well as the original type taken with meals.
