Hi!

I've only been losing my hair for a few months and it is not noticeable yet to anyone but me. Like the previous posts have said, curly hair helps. It's up to you if you want to perm it, though. I'm a cosmo and I personally would not perm it but I would use rollers and irons. If you have curly hair, apply mousse and scrunch your hair while slowly blowing dry. Also, a good wire round brush and a blow dryer on semi-damp hair using mousse does wonders for me. Short hair is okay but I would keep the layers longer to help cover thinning areas. It's just my opinion but I would go above the shoulder or chin length with lots of rounded layers.

Highlighting was mentioned and it is a great idea especially if your hair is dark. If you are thinning and you have dark hair there will be a very noticeable contrast between your hair and your scalp making your hair loss seem more pronounced. If you have brown hair I would not go too light with the highlights but a few shades lighter because it will look more natural than if your highlights are super blond.

There is also a product on the market called Toppik. I have not used this myself but I am planning to order some if my hair loss becomes more noticeable. It is a product that comes in a shaker bottle. It is essentially very small fibers that you shake on your head that bond with your hair using static to help fill in thin areas. It comes in different colors so that you can get a decent match. Since it bonds with hair you have to obviously have some hair in your thinning areas to have it work. Type "toppik" in the search engine in this forum to hear what over PCOS ladies have said about it. I think you can also read testimonies and maybe even order it at haircountry.com. Hope this helps! Hair loss is definately one of my most troubling symptoms. God bless! Tera
