Re: Good Result with Yasmin

Hi Melanie,
I'm definitely not over the top, and believe me, I know that depressed,
weepy, angry feeling one can easily get from time to time, especially
when hormones are the culprits. I've been on Ortho Novum and Ortho
Tri-Cylcen, and now on Yasmin. All BCPs heighten my sensitivity, but
then so does pms and pregnancy and menopause for many. It's all
relative I guess. When you're emotional and bloated, it's all downhill
from there. At least with Yasmin, you are actually less heavy with no
bloating, so you never feel as "full and weighed down by emotions." Get
what I mean? When I look at an emotionally charged moment logically, I
can say, "this is not me reacting, this is my hormones," and I can let
it go for what it's worth because I'm not carrying it around with all
that extra weight to boot. I might even be in a better mood, even
though I feel more sensitive to comments and other social irritants.
Does that make any sense? I feel good about being in touch with my
feelings and being able to distinguish what is me and what is medical
because I'm not preoccupied with the painful cystic acne that used to
cover my chin and forhead. I really do. Funny thing about the sex
drive though. It's definitely not gone, but I haven't been terribly
preoccupied with "gettin' any" lately. I don't know if this is because
of the BCPs or being pulled in too many directions lately. I'm going to
keep taking Yasmin for as long as my body and my insurance company and
my doctor will let me. If I don't feel frisky within the next two
weeks, I'll let you know--LOL. Hey, I am not losing my hair, my skin is
almost clear, and I don't have a mustache. If you're not trying to get
pregnant, and you're struggling with PCOS symptoms, Yasmin may be a
Godsend for you. I sure hope so :) C
