I have slightly irregular periods, but had no trouble conceiving my son. I also have terrible acne and am overweight, but do not have excess hair. My main problem has always been regulating my blood glucose, to the extent that I developed gestational diabetes (my dad and uncle have diabetes), yet my GP will not prescribe Metformin as she knows nothing about it's use for PCOS. Does anyone in the UK have any information I could give her, and has anyone had any positive/negative responses to Metformin? I would be very grateful for any help, Many thanks, Sarah.
