Re: Anyone have hypothyroidism?From: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 29 Jan 2002 15:02:34 -0600 (CST)
I could really relate to what you said in your post, Wendy. I'm only truly comfortable in the summer when everyone else is dying of heat. I have "known" for years that I had low thyroid (I have all the classic symptoms), but everytime I've been tested, the doctor tells me I'm NORMAL. I found one doctor years ago who was willing to go along and prescribed medication for low thyroid. I lost a lot of weight quickly and felt better than I had felt for years. Unfortunately, I moved soon after that, and couldn't continue seeing her. :( I never heard about PCOS until today, and wow...once again I could relate, I suffered for years with these symptoms, but no one ever told me about PCOS. I was even diagnosed as being diabetic for a short time, but went on a rigorous diet and managed to test clear the next time, and since. I didn't want to start on that route (I can trace it back 10 generations, counting my grandchildren, in my family.) I am on no medication. Connie
