Nearly 6 months - Dr Sam or anyone?From: Sally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 28 Jan 2002 18:56:20 -0600 (CST)
Hi, Would appreciate anyone's comments or experience. Have been on metformin and levothryoxine sodium and diane-35 for nearly 6 months. Still not having regular periods..... sometimes I get some spotting during the month, and at the end of the 7 day-break I get 1/2-1 day of light bleeding (I don't think this is normal - when I was much younger I used to have 4 - 5 day periods). Any idea how long before things should normalise? Also I have breast discharge still - despite 'normal' prolactin levels (dr has tested twice already - though I haven't told dr. recently that am still having this). Is this something to be concerned with? Not all is bad however, and actually all else is going fine. Lipid profile have improved dramatically (about 10% decrease in all parameters, and about 16% increase in HDL (though it is still very low), and am losing weight slowly but surely with strict dieting). Could the weight loss/strict dieting be contributing to my not having period? I am trying to eat approx 1000 - 1200 calories a day (lower carb, low fat diet), but never more than 1500 and with this and exercise can lose about 2 - 4 pounds a month. Without doing this I still have problem losing weight and would probably gain. Best wishes and thanks to everyone.
