In the past I have started BCP without waiting for a period first. Be careful, if you start Dianette on the first day of a period, you are covered for contraception immediately, but if you start without a period first, then you should use "alternative" contraception for......I don't know how long. 7 days? CHECK! I'm guessing from the fact that you have been prescribed Dianette that you are from the UK - why not just give your GP a call? Most GPs make themselves available for phone calls after morning surgery. Your GP might prefer to prescribe Progesterone for a few days to bring on a period, and then start the Dianette.
