Hi Haley,

Your endo is talking rubbish. Metformin is absolutely safe while TTC. Once you get pregnant, yes it may cause neural tube defects ( NTD), but stopping it increases the risk of miscarriage. The latter danger is 2X the magnitude of NTD and it can be countered by adding 800 mcg folic acid to your diet. For your info
