Anyone have hypothyroidism?From: Christa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Jan 2002 21:28:57 -0600 (CST)
I do have PCOS and have been taking gluco for over a year as well as Diane (bcp)along with spironolactone. My symptoms have still not been relieved completely. At any rate I also seem to exhibit many of the symptoms which accompany hypothyroidism. I'm extremely cold most of the time (except summer months when I'm comfortable while most people are sweaty). My hands and feet are the coldest as well as my nose. I actually do not like Air Conditioning. I NEVER sweat unless I'm running on the tread mill for at least 2 miles. I have no need to put on deoderant as I never prespire. My skin is terribly dry especially in the winter. I must put lotion over my entire body after every shower or my skin flakes away. I have a very hard time getting up in the morning regardless of the amount of hours I have slept. Most of my doctors over the years have commented about the size of my thyroid. The seem to think it's enlarged. I have been reading books about thyroid conditions and believe mine is part of the problem. Is anyone else suffering from hypothyroidism as well as PCOS?
