withdrawl from antidepressants can be very difficult. if it were me with the situation you have i might consider trying the met first and see how things progress from there. i am on a very high dose of effxor, and i thank god for it, because i have my life back on track. i tried several antidepressants befoe finding one that worked. my family dr. really didnt know much about their use and dosages and a physc.dr was way,way better at perscribing them. being overlyhungry can produce a pretty nasty little mood for me, and i am getting that on track now that i understand ir and carbs better. anyway, good luck with whatever you decide. (p.s. to clarify that: yes, get a 2nd opinion, and yes do explore other options)
