Re: Constant Migraine Headaches and PCOSFrom: lynsey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 17 Jan 2002 16:15:19 +0000
Barbara, I don't know if this will be of any help but I recently found this section in an article on the internet: "What else could it be? The other conditions likely to cause abnormal periods include raised levels of prolactin and of thyroid stimulating hormones (TSH). Both these hormones are produced from a particular part of the brain, the anterior pituitary. Raised prolactin levels can occur together with headaches and some disturbances of vision while raised TSH levels indicate low thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). Both these conditions lead to suppressed ovulation and infertility." The link for this is: http://netdoctor.co.uk/womenshealth/facts/pcos.htm I do not know how credible the writer is yet as i have not researched him properly but he seems to know what he is talking about and has lots of credits to his name. I have also read another article on the same lines but a little more indepth, unfortunatly i can't find it!!! Anyway it was saying the same as the above but listed more of the symptoms of PCOS that can occur in the same way as the above diseases. I will try to find the article for you. I hope this helps or at leasts gives you some ideas-if it doesn't i'm very sorry. Good luck, Lynsey Xxx
