I concur with Renee on this one. LA is more than just muscle cramping; it manifests largely as extreme shortness of breath combined with severe muscle cramping, along with an inability to pee (your kidneys and lungs filter out/metabolize met). There are many more symptoms that go along with it--I've had it and survived. Go back through the archives....there are many posts about it and its symptoms. It's worth your time to educate yourself about the medication you take. Additionally, there is a 1 in 33,000 chance of getting LA--consider me the "one" you know in 33,000 and put yourself at rest.

Muscle cramps can be caused from a lack of potassium--met is a potassium-store depleting medication, even though spiro is a potassium-preserving drug. I had many times of 'side stitches' and other muscle cramps that were due to a lack of potassium in my system--they went away when I stocked up on the mineral. Potassium can be found in high concentrations in raisins, orange juice, yogurt, bananas, dark green leafy veggies, etc. Do a web search on potassium and you'll find a list of good foods to eat that will stock you up on the stuff.
