Re: Yasmin Questions

Hi-

Glad I could help. I wouldn't be too concerned with some spotting, especially if this is the first time you have taken any kind of BCP. It can take up to a month or so for your body to adjust to the medication.

Like I said, I have been happy on this one. I have been on the pill for years, starting at age 19. I went off for a couple of years at 34 and have been back on now for almost a year. So I have been taking the pill for over fifteen years total. I have been the happiest with Yasmin. Some of the other types of pills I took years ago seemed to give me bad mood swings and migraines.

I was told by my doctor that Yasmin also has the advantage of being a testosterone blocker because it binds differently than Alesse and other pills. If true, this is definitely good news for most of the women with PCOS who want to take the pill.

I can't tell you for sure if the Yasmin would eliminate mood swings, but if it can help your testosterone levels and keep you from having bad cramps and excessive bleeding, I would think it couldn't help but improve anyone's moods. I know I'm not cranky during that time of the month if I feel good.

Good luck!

Genny
