Because Glucophage is an insulin sensitizer, that is, it helps your body use it's own insulin more effectively. The inability to recognize our own insulin (insulin resistance) is thought to be the cause of PCOS. Your ovaries were one of the areas in your body affected by this. Removing them doesn't change the hormonal / metabolic problems your body is still having.
