Hello! I need some advice from others with similar issues.... I never had normal periods and wasn't too concerned since I was healthy, but hairy. When my husband & I decided to try for a baby two years ago I went the the Doctor (a new one, an OBGYN) and presented my issues. He looked at me and said " You are a classic case of PCOS." I had no idea what that was in my previous 29 years, but an ultrasound confirmed it. After a year of no pregnancy, I was sent to the fertility specialist, who put me on Metformin 1500mg day. I subsequently lost 10 pounds. When the fertility treatment stopped and I went back on the pill and Spironolactone we stopped the Met. It has been 6 months now and my weight has gone back up 10 pounds. Please note that I am 5'9" and now weigh 153, so it's not like I'm having serious problems here. I run 5 miles 3x a week or take an hour of Spin 3x week, walk at least 4 miles a day and this has been constant. It appears to me that Met helped me.

But my questions to you experienced ones are...... 1. Would it be advisable in your opinion to add the Met back in? I think it must have helped me, since it really is the only factor that changed. 2. Are any of you ladies on a combo of Metformin, Spironolactone and OrthoNovum? 3. Are headaches a side effect of insulin problems? I've been getting them since the Met was discontinued.

I will be going to the Doctor sometime soon and would like to hear outside opinions before our discussion.

Any input would be appreciated.

Goodnight!
