Julie have you tried charting your basal body temperature to keep track of your ovulation and changes in your body? It might be good for you, just as another way of knowing what's going on. There are great software packages out there (I use TCOYF's at TCOYF.com) that will do it right on your computer.

BTW, I know of a woman on a TTC board who just found out she is pregnant with an ovulation at cd35 or so, so it definitely happens!
