Sorry for the late response Sonnet- I was out of town for the weekend. The reasons that I miscarry are two fold - 1. I have MTHFR and Antiphospholipid antibodies that cause the blood to clot during pregnancy and 2. I have killer cells that try to kill off the baby and my body doesn't create the good antibodies to protect the baby so my body in effect fights the pregnancy off like a cancer. I do have insulin resistance but was told that the miscarry rate due to insulin is low and is most likely not my problem - I was also told that the metformin would take care of the risk associated with insulin resistance and that being on metformin decreases the risk of miscarriage. That's what the doctors are telling me. I see my specialist again on Thursday and will ask for more specifics - if the answer is any different I will let you know. -Lori
