Deasr Lauren,

The BCP masks the symptoms of PCOS and also interferes with any hormone testing. You cannot really compare the results while you were on BCP with the results when you are not. The results when you are not on BCP (according to Dr. Sam you need 3 monhs off the BCP before your hormone levewls would get back to 'Normal") are probably your actual and you don't know what they would have been before if you weren't on the BCP. The fact that you are having relatively normal cycle now probably means that the Met is helping.

Don't give up. If you are having cycles (and ovulating) your chances of conceiving are most likely good. I think pill can also block testosterone levels??? Long cycle doens't mean you didn't ovulate. You would need to monitor for ovulation by looking for the 'egg white' (about 2 weeks before your period) and/or monitoring your temperature.

Keep up the good work. And Met does seem to be pretty good for most women with PCOS. Also, it apparently increases success of other fertility treatments - if these are requried.
