Claire... Are you sure the migraines were from Dianette? I am asking because while I was on a bcp Demulen and a cholesterol med Lipitor, I began to get migraines too. I thought the migraines were because of one or both medications, but after starting Met, my migraines went away immediately even though I am still taking Demulen and Lipitor. Just some food for thought. The Demulen helped my hirsutism tremendously also.

Insulin Resistance is when fasting glucose levels are normal and insulin is high (above 10). You probably should have had a fasting insulin test (carb loading the day before), although now that you are on Met already, your results won't be accurate, so it might be too late for that?????

I was having troubles with Met at first too (tired, nausea) even though all my IR symptoms were disappearing. My doctor suggested I get a pill cutter. I took one 500mg. Met a day.....1/4 for breakfast, 1/4 for lunch, and 1/2 for dinner. I also ate balanced meals, incorporating protein and healthy carbs with each. And trying to exercise in the mornings after breakfast. Eventually, as I get used to Met, I may be able to increase my dosage. My doctor said that some people are very sensitive to medications and need to build up slowly.

I am not an expert on this, I'm still experimenting myself after being diagnosed a year ago, and not sure if any of this will pertain to you, but I hope something I said helps.
