Help interpreting test results, pleaseFrom: Lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Nov 2001 19:36:48 -0600 (CST)
I just got some test results back, and I'm confused. I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure this out. The first time my DHEA-S level was tested, back in June, I was on the pill, and the result was 412. Since then, I've gone off the pill and have been taking 2000 mg Metformin XR for the last 4-1/2 months. This time, the result was 400. The doctor didn't test my testosterone level. Apparently, in June, it was normal, and she didn't see the need to do it. Does this mean that the met is not working? Since going off the pill I have gotten two seemingly normal periods, each about 32 days apart, but now I'm on day 43 with no period yet. I think it'll probably come in the next few days, due to PMS symptoms, but who knows. I assume this means I didn't ovulate. So frustrating! I want to get pregnant in the near future (I'm 32) and I'm afraid of losing more hair. I thought, maybe naively, that the met would help with that, but if it's not working.... Thanks for any insights. --Lauren
