Hi Wendy, It seems doctors have different opinoins on weather complete blood work needs to be done for PCOS or not. She should have at least checked your liver enzyms before putting in you on metfromin to make sure you can even take it!If your trying to conceive you can ask for all of the hormone testing relating to being able to concieve. That would be your progesterone,lh/fsh ratio, testosterone ect. Some doctors feel these are not needed unless your TTC or do not have regular cycles. My opinion however and I am not a doctor or a nurse but just a patient who wants to know exactly how bad my PCOS is. I want these tests done weather or not I am trying to conceive. Wouldnt it be nice to know if you can actually concieve on your own or not (some woman have regular cycles with PCOS and STILL CAN NOT GET PREGNANT on there own)? These tests can help determine that. My sister has Hoshimoto thyroid (i believe that is hypo thyroid related?)and they test her once a year at her annual check ups for TSH and all that stuff. Dona you can look up what tests to ask for at http://www.pcosupport.org
