Re: PCOS-MEDICATION digest 631From: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 8 Nov 2001 12:39:32 EST
Hi This is for all that read this board I was diagnosed with pcos in march of 2001 I was put on metformin and spirnolactone When we began this treatment in march of 2001 I was 387lbs IM now 272 that is an amazing drop for me. It took quite some time to diagnose my pcos for we are military and see many diffrent physicians. Here is my question to all how many of you take your insulin levels regularly my DR that treats my pcos says my levels should be between 70 and 100 when i began treatment it was 135 not to high but high enough how we confirmed that i had insulin problems is when i was taking my sugars and had one soda and ffries for lunch my insulin levels jumped well over the 200 mark so what I want to say is I feel for all of you that pcos and to hang in their. I want to know how many of you have girls that are having the same difficulty with pcos and UN regulated cycles and what are they recommending for the girls i have a 13 yr. old that her cycles are not balanced and they recommended PC pills i told them no this is her first year of cycling and that we would wait and watch for now she is cycling every five months she is not over wt if anything she is underweight i was able to have a child after loosing fifty lbs and one child is just fine please write back and let me know what you would do in my case melisa johnson fffeathers@aol.com
