Re: Glucophage Worked - Baby Is Here!From: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 8 Nov 2001 08:41:28 -0600 (CST)
>He also has me taking 81 mg of baby aspirin a day (not sure what that is for)...< Stacie-- do you know if your RE ran a test for antiphospholipid antibodies? After several m/c, my RE ran this test and discovered that I tested positive. The only tx for it is to take a baby aspirin per day (81 mg). There is no harm to any baby in utero, and in fact, there is a new study out of Great Britain that indicates that a low-dose aspirin per day (50-100mg) may significantly reduce the chances of pre-eclampsia and subsequently, eclampsia in pg moms. The study also indicated that the aspirin (again, low-dose) does not affect newborns' ability to clot or cause excessive bleeding. Good luck!!
