Hey Muriel:

I have an idea. Why don't you print out your e-mails and TAKE THEM TO YOUR DOCTOR for answers. These questions would be better posed to a trained medical professional. If you get the answers, please, please share them with us.

I don't think any of us here can address them without feeling insulted. The way you ask the questions implies that we are doing something wrong, or worse yet, deserve what we have. Maybe you feel this way about yourself, but I'm trying not to about myself. From reading your posts, I can hardly tell if you want to take Glocophage or don't. If it's working for you, great! Don't insult those for whom it doesn't work. It apparently doesn't work for everyone and we're not trained scientists who can tell you why. There are doctors who can. Find the best specialist in the world and go to him/her. That person exists.

If your weight is threatening your marriage, get a marriage counselor. Better yet, send your husband to one so he can deal with whatever is making him think he's no longer attracted to you. It sounds like it has nothing to do with weight, considering you say you weighed more when you got married.

Please take your scientific questions to a neutral, trained third party. And if you don't like or trust your doctor, GET A NEW ONE. Keep looking for one who CAN and WILL answer your questions.

I'm looking for shared experiences on this board, not accusations and bick ering. I am certainly not here to have a debate over science and medicine, in which I was not trained. Good luck and I hope you get your answers.
