Re: maybe Dr. Sam can help - On Glucophage and weight lossFrom: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Nov 2001 09:58:32 -0600 (CST)
>OK I have been trying to work through this Glucophage thing logically, not medically, and here are my conclusions.< Muriel-- I think the problem here is that you are looking at this logically. PCO is not a logic problem to be solved, therefore, one answer will not work for everyone. Everyone's system is different and the parts of the equation will change each time you look at it. If you don't like it or it doesn't work for you, then don't take it. It works well for most people with PCO, and if they're under the care of a competent RE, why mess with them? If it doesn't work for you, then there are other insulin sensitizing medications out there worth trying. I personally had some good success with met, but had some other complications last year that required a change to Actos. Both have worked for me and are keeping my insulin levels down and my baby in utero (thanks to my insulin levels being down). While I can appreciate trying to understand all of this from a logical, cerebral view, it really doesn't work, and your comments are more likely to offend and be taken the wrong way when you come down in black and white like that. And yes, I understand that it's your opinion, but as you were once offended by another's opinion, some may be offended by this as well.
