I personally haven't been on Paxil although I am considering it if counselling alone doesn't keep the bouts of severe depression at bay (So far so good!) But I do have at least 2 friends with PCOS who have been on it and both said it was absolutely lifesaving. They felt really good on it. I believe (although I've never seen this documented, so bear with me) that the shifting hormones in PCOS affect our seratonin levels. That would account for the insomina, depression / anxiety, and even some weight gain. If that's true, then any seratonin reuptake inhibitor (like Paxil, right?) would help.
