hi mel, I have been taking spiro for 8 months and when i started my boobs were double d's. the are now a D cup. I do not know whether the spiro causes it or not as it is not the only meds i take i also take diane 35. I think honestly in my case is from the birth control as when i was younger taking birth control my breasts decreased. I have severe cysts in my breasts also and i think the smaller size helps to shrink them or whatever because they used to be painful and now they are not who knows. About the sugar thing though I have never liked choc bars or candy i used to hate pop i always drank like 8-9 huge glasses of water a day and now i swear if i don't have one pop a day i go crazy and get severly grumpy. i try not to have one every day don't want to gain weight but my weight has been pretty stable. I have found that the spiro caused me to have some severe depression due to hormonal changes the doctor states. i think more on the lines of post traumatic stress syndrome my sisters son died on may 9th/01 he had cancer since he was 2, left my boyfriend the next week, and then my brothers were in an accident. My doctor knows me well as he is my mentor for my schooling. I want to be a doctor so i always used to talk to him he says he noticed changes about 2 months after my endocronoligist started me on spiro. I finally confided in him this past monday. He said that if i wasn't taking the spiro i could have dealt with the stresses as i always have before. We talked for hours and I showed him my midterm marks and I have basically failed. My marks last year were high 90's now cant even concentrate or think and my average is 29. He told me to take a medical leave of absence which i have and i am severly disappointed as i never wanted to take the spiro now i have to take celexa for 3 months then see if i am ok. I guess depression is common while taking spiro i just hope the celexa doesn't cause adverse side effects while taking spiro he says they won't haven't tried the celexa yet i am scared to but i might try saturday or sunday i am just worried how they will make me feel. sorry for venting.
