Can you quit Avandia cold turkey?From: Kari (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Oct 2001 08:09:33 -0700
I know I need to consult with my RE on this but I was wondering if anyone had any input. A little history - I went on 4mg in March and increased to 8mg in August. I've always gotten migraines with hormones, but since starting the Avandia i've gotten migraine/flu type thing and the past two months it's just been unbearable. I was so sick yesterday that I couldn't even get out of bed to go to an appt with my new primary care doctor. I was having dry heaves once all the water in my stomach was gone. The last 24 hours i've done nothing but lie in bed miserable. Thus far, there has been no sign of ovulation and only slight improvement in other tests that I know of. So, the question is why bother? I couldn't take it yesterday, i'm tempted to stop now. Even if I ovulate this month, is this horrible monthly death flu going to stop? Another history note, I did try 1000 mg for 4 months and wasn't ovulating on that either, but maybe I need to give that another try and increase the dosage once I get past that digestive tract nonsense with it. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanks, Kari in San Jose
