Wow!!! We kicked off the PCOSA membership drive and you responded! The PCOSA had 90 members join or renew in the last two weeks! Thanks to all who have shown their commitment to the PCOSA. The Organization's staff knows that with your support, the goal of 1000 members by the end of the year will be reached. Be sure to check out our progress at http://www.pcosupport.org.

Christine Gray-Dezarn, founder of the PCOSA, and Kristin Rencher have spent this week attending the annual American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) meeting in Orlando. The ASRM is an organization devoted to advancing knowledge and expertise in reproductive medicine and biology. While at the conference, Christine and Kristin talked with many Reproductive Healthcare Professionals about our organization and our mission to help women with PCOS receive the healthcare and resources they need.

Meetings like ASRM are important because they allow the PCOSA staff to connect face-to-face with medical professionals. This face-to-face contact allows the PCOSA board and staff to do advocacy for PCOSA members and build relationships. Doctors from these relationships often become professional members of the organization and are a basis for new collaborations. One example of this type of collaboration is the collaboration with the Hormone foundation to produce the booklets that are available for download at http://www.pcosupport.org/support/booklets.php

PCOSA memberships are an important part of this process. Membership numbers, along with statistics from the web site, online community, and inquiries help demonstrate how many women need our help and show the medical professionals how many of us there are.
