Thyroid question for the Doc or anyone

I just got my thyroid test results and T4 is 1.1 ng/ml and the TSH is low 0.35 (no units given but ref. is 0.4-5.5). My question is should'nt I be treated for this? My doc said TSH is low but to wait for treatment to see if it will improve in a couple of months. I DO NOT want to wait anymore. I waited 10+ years to get diagnosed. I waited while TTC. And I waited while pregnant and breast feeding! I am taking metformin (1000mg/day) and i also think this should be increased. I told doc that i was having heart palpitations and am very tired all the time. He did ekg and all was normal at that time. I have a 9 month old baby and can't afford to "wait". I need to be able to care for her with all of my energy. Should I insist on treatment now? Anyone else have this problem?
