Hi Jan,

The frequency of miscarriage is multiple in PCOSers. Metformin is able to decrease this risk to average, therefore if your lab results support the Dx of PCOS, metformin is indicated even if you are not insulin resistant. However metformin increases the risk of neural tube defect, but this can be countered by adding folic acid (800 mcg/day) to your diet. For your info
