Hi everyone, This is the first time that I've posted a message to this forum, but I've been reading your messages for a few months now. I'm living in the UK and was diagnosed with PCOS in November 1999, when I was ttc without success. My PCOS symptons are quite monir compared to some of you, but my yearning for a baby is so great that the condition is causing me to feel very depressed. To cut a long story short, I was first put on Clomid (100mg) for 6 months and in this time I actually conceived but unfortunately, miscarried quite early on. The hospital then put me on Tamoxifen but this did very little for me. I then had my ovaries drilled and managed to fall pregnant without medication (horray!!) but I once again miscarried. I am now back on Clomid (100mg) for 3 months and the hospital have told me that there is little more they can do for me if I don't conceive in the next three months. I am an NHS patient and they don't seem very interested in the fact that I've had two miscarriages now and it's obviously breaks my heart. I have been reading about Metformin and on my last appointment I asked to be put on it. I was told that this was only given to obese PCOS sufferers and that I didn't need it. I'm not sure how they can say this when I have never had an insulin restistance test done. Should I insist on these tests being carried out? I'm not sure how much more heart ache they are expecting me to go through!! If anyone in the UK is reading this then can you tell me where I might find a doctor in or around London or the South East of England that is pro Metformin because from what I have read it would seem that this is some sort of wonder drug for us PCOS women. Thanks for taking the time to read my rather lengthy tale!
