Hello again Kim, Actually PCOS is defined as a hormonal imbalance which affects metabolism. We don't ALL have cysts (despite the misleading name of the disease) and we don't ALL have IR--although the vast majority of us do. PCOS is quite a tricky thing to accurately Dx, but if you at least find a Dr. who will LISTEN and likewise share information with you, you've got a good start. If the anti-androgens aren't helping your hair growth/hair loss problem, then that to me would indicate that it's not your testosterone causing that problem. When was the last time you had your hormonal levels checked? These are really what spell out PCOS, along with the insulin tests. If your testosterone levels are normal (and not "high normal"), and everything else looks ok, it might very well NOT be PCOS--so keep looking for the right problem. I know it's a hard struggle, but we ALL go through this and there's no other way to get the proper treatment---for whatever the condition is. Good luck to you, and don't give up!
