I took Dianette for about 6 years. It did not make me put on weight or make by breasts larger. In fact, I think I lost weight on it!

Why has your doctor chosen this exact pill? Has he diagnosed PCOS. It was used for me because of bad skin problems related to PCOS.

As far as side effects go I experienced none. The pill merely masks the symptoms of PCOS, so the only problem I have had with it is when I stopped taking it and the PCOS reared its ugly head. I don't think the pill made things any worse, it just puts you in a 'deep freeze' for the time that you take it.

As far as having periods go, your doctor may be worried about you getting too thick a lining on your womb if you are not bleeding every month. This can be dangerous so it's worth asking him/her about this.

I hope this helps.
