<snip>> It's diagnosed by its symptoms, and by exclusion -- that is, they take your medical history, including PCOS-like symptoms such as high testosterone, then test you to make sure nothing else is causing the symptoms (like Cushing's or adrenal hyperplasia). It's tricky, but can definitely be done.

<snip> You don't have to have cysts to have PCOS, and you don't necessarily have PCOS if you have cysts. It's confusing, but they really only figured it out recently, and the name stuck.

How old are you? If you are young, you could just be stating to get the symptoms. Oh, and needing clomid does qualify as having fertility issues, doesn't it?

<snip> Well, that sounds like PCOS, then. PCOS is totally tied in with insulin resistance.

<snip> I would think that having miscarriages would make you more convinced you have PCOS, because we do have a much higher miscarriage rate. Were you on an insulin sensitizing medication like metformin when you miscarried?
