Hi Melissa, Sounds like you hit it right on the nose. Yes, consistent testing should be done to check where your levels are at to determine if your meds need to be adjusted. If you are IR, then they should've Rx you Metformin (Glucophage), Avandia or Actos to make your insulin function correctly--rather than just to tell you to change your diet. And yes, a Reproductive Endocrinologist is the best person to see. Why not get a referral to them and then see what happens? I'm in the process of trying to get a referral to the Jones Institute in VA--supposedly the largest Women's Health clinic in the region, and have a 2nd opinion appt. with an RE there in Dec. Hopefully, I will get better treatment that I've been having with the Military so far.
