I was diagnosed with pcos 3 weeks ago by ultrasound. The gyn just told me I had pcos and that it made me insulin resistant which makes me a border line diabetic so I need to change my diet. He also kept me on ortho for BC. I have a 9 month old son and have had 3 miscarriages before that. I concieved naturally. THe last blood test was just a reg hormone panel and that was at my 6 week checkup. My blood pressure is way up since I had my son. Always before I had low blood pressure. My reg doc prescribed Net 500mg once a day something for my blood pressure and that was it. I also have been taking spiro for the last 8 months for hair growth. It seems to me that I am recieve the correct treatment but my concern is no one has done any more blood test to check anything. Is it normally nessicary to have a lot of blood work done? I am thinking I might want to see an endo doctor? Is that the kind that usually works with pcos? It seems to me that my doctors arent that well informed and are not working with each other to treat me. I guess im just wondering if I am doing the right things or if I should be doing more. I feel like I need a second opinion.
