The brand name is Glucophage -- you can read up on it at http://www.glucophage.com I think they haven't fully explained or figured out how the metformin works to help our PCOS (and thus, infertility). The theory is that by lowering our insulin levels, the other hormones can balance out.

>spirolactone the same thing as metaformin?? Not at all. Spirolactone is an anti-androgen that blocks the androgens from affecting the hair follicles (among other things). In fact, you should not take Spiro if you are TTC, because it can cause birth defects. Hope you understand things a bit better now.
