Hi Claire, I said what I said, but it was only an explanation to someone who complained on metformin. The truth is that prednisone only addresses the androgen excess side of PCOS, but deteriorates the metabolic side, but it takes several months to show results. Therefore I strongly support metabolic treatment (insulin sensitizers) of PCOS. You say you are waiting for a period. What are your hormone results? Why don"t you take a course of progestin or natural progesterone to induca a bleeding? Looking forward to your answer Sam
