Re: Question for Dr. Sam re: tests performedFrom: =?iso-8859-2?q?Zalányi Sámuel ?= (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Sep 2001 16:40:02 +0200
Hi Meaghan, BCPs suppress FSH,LH, estrogens and progesterone, some of them androgens too. Therefore it is meaningless to run hormonal tests for PCOS while on BCPs. If you want information on them, you should stop the pill and wait at least until the next period (which is usually late) and have the blood drawn between days 1-3 of that cycle. For your info Sam
