I understand exactly what you are feeling -- I have the same feelings. It's not fair, is it, that we have these problems that doctors call "cosmetic." Being overweight in this society, if you are a woman, is the worst thing that can happen to you. When asked whether they'd rather die or be fat, a majority of women polled said that they'd rather die.

That said, there are success stories of women who have lost weight and dealt with the hair, either with medication, diet/exercise, or both.

<snip> Actually, Ortho Tri-cyclen, along with any other triphasic pill, is the worst thing for women with PCOS, because the hormone levels are too low to suppress the cysts and because it increases insulin resistance, already a problem for many of us. You should talk to your doctor about Yasmin, the new birth control pill with anti-androgen capabilities. It should help with the hair and acne without worsening your weight and other issues.

<snip> I had the nasty diarrhea too, the first few weeks, and took Pepto Bismol to soothe my stomach. Actually, it was the store brand, but it's the same ingredients. I still get diarrhea from time to time, particularly if I eat a lot of carbs. Have you considered dietary changes as well? Limiting carbs, particularly high glycemic-index ones seems to help a lot of women minimize the gastrointestinal side-effects.
