Hi Cynthia,
Xenical is a drug that blocks your absorption of fat in the diet. It is
only useful if you have a very high fat diet and it has pretty awful
side effects like oily flatulence, diarrhoea. My new endo offered it to
me (in addition to metformin and diane 35) and I refused as my diet is
already good and very low fat. I don't beleive it could significantly
affect your cholesterol levels (my thought) and it won't affect your
insulin levels. Attention to diet is probably more important and less
antisocial. Like Sam said Metformin is probably most of our drug of
choice for the insulin issues.
