Hi Cynthia,
I don't know what is Xenical, but metformin is a drug to balance your insulin levels, i.e. it decreases insulin resistance. So why does your dr prescirbe another drug for insulin resistance? If your insulin is corrected, cholesterol should come down autamatically.
