Hi Wendy, The headaches and nausea you are experiencing may be symptoms of PCOS, or they can be symptoms of migraines or hypoglycemia. Bottom line--you need to see the Dr about this. It may or may not be due to the Provera. How did you "just find out" that you were taking it?? Did the Dr not discuss this with you?? Or is someone else giving you the pill and hiding it from you somehow?? I just don't understand how you didn't KNOW you were taking Provera. As for the hair problem, hirsutism is very common with PCOSers because of the elevated testosterone levels. You can shave, wax, bleach it---there are many options. You can also take Spironolactone (Aldactone)--which is a diuretic which has anti-androgen properties. Or, you can be put on a BCP with these properties, which will also help regulate your periods. There is also a new cream called Vaniqa, which is rather expensive, but is said to work very well. You need make an appt. with your Dr before your next 6 month visit and talk to him/her about these symptoms. We're here for general advice; you need to talk to your Dr about these issues. We can't speculate on how long these symptoms may last because again, we're not Dr's here, and we have no way of knowing what is CAUSING them. Please make an appt. Good luck!--Zowie :)
