There have been a few drinking nights over the three years I've been on metformin and other than the usual hangover I've never had an adverse reaction combining the two. Everyone responds differently I guess. I took Immodium AD at the same time as the metformin when I first began for the first month until my system got used to it so I avoided the usual "gastro" side effects.
