For Cyster ChristaFrom: Christa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 21 Aug 2001 23:13:31 -0500 (CDT)
Hi -- Dr. Sam has repeatedly said on this message board that PCOS is caused from insulin resistance and that it has been proven so. I find so much conflicting opinions that my I get very frustrated most times I read this board. I will add here that although I've been on 1500mg of glucophage for well over a year, there have been no real changes in my symptoms. I've lost some weight, but that's all. I appreciate your feedback -- I just don't know what to do anymore. I just hate the symptoms I suffer from as a result of PCOS and nothing has really helped me so far. Many people including yourself have stated that PCOS is not only caused from insulin resistance. I still don't know what the real truth about this disease is. Perhaps I will always have skin problems and exessive hair growth.
-- Christa
