Re: Spirnolactone and VaniquaFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 Aug 2001 05:46:13 -0500 (CDT)
I have been on Spironolactone and Metaformin for 1 year and 2 months for PCOS I have all the symptoms including obesity, acne, infertility (for a number of years and then blessed with an unexpected baby) and all the small side effects that go with it, bloating, beast, soreness, hair growth. For a year the spironolactone stopped all acne and extra hair growth, I was taking 2 pills am and 2 pills pm total of 100mg. Metaformin was maintaining my weight. Then, Last week I had a second bad reaction to pineapple with the metaformin( shakes, nausea, diaherra, pressure On the chest, waves of dizziness and I have suffered from bouts of dehydration from the spironolactone. I have recently been taken off of all meds (the summers are very hot where I live). I also don't seem to have any tolerance to temperature hot or cold. My doctor thinks I might be going through menopause early. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this.
